When my kids were little, I wrote during the odd bits of time I had. I wrote to entertain myself (many parents of small children will get this!)
When my kids started school, opened my own business developing web sites, writing copy for web and marketing clients, and helping women build businesses they love. It was a very rewarding business.
Then my dad died suddenly around Christmas 2025.
During the weeks before he died, we (thankfully) had a lot of great conversations. The one that sticks with me is his telling me over and over, "Do things while you can."
I was gearing up to start the new year with my business when he died. Suddenly, I just didn't want to do that anymore. I went from "I want to do this forever" to "let me off this ride."
I closed my business and officially retired.
This chapter of my life is about discovery—on the water, on the road, through a camera lens or paintbrush, and now, once again, on the page. Writing is the kind of dream that never really leaves, it just waits for the right moment.
Now I’m following those story threads again and paying attention to the small details that often become the beginning of a good story.
I’m drawn to fiction with questions tucked inside: stories with heart, mystery, unexpected turns, and characters who may have the cards stacked against them.
My goal is to write books that invite readers in, make them care about characters and story, then keep them curious enough to keep turn pages.
When I am not writing, I am traveling, taking pictures of street art and architecture, and painting. My husband and I enjoying sailing out of Boston and exploring New England and beyond.
And I love to bake. The whole sourdough thing confounds me, but I make the best molasses whole wheat bread and carrot cake on the planet.
